What are your sessions like?
Every session is going to be fun and unique! The length and time, and number of locations will vary depending on the type of session you choose. No matter what the locations is, I am always looking at it differently for all my clients. To me, it’s not so much about the location but more about the light at that time in conjunction with your personality and style. As we walk around, I will guide you through with what to do while I shoot. I don’t do a lot of posing and focus more on making you feel comfortable in front of the camera by talking to you and getting to know you. As we both get to know each other, you’ll find that it gets easier and start to feel more natural…I’ll photograph that gorgeous smile, that thoughtful look…and soon you’ll be laughing and I’ll be capturing those gorgeous candid moments too!
Do I need to get professional hair and makeup?
It’s up to you – professionally done hair and makeup does translate well on camera, and I have some talented hair stylists and makeup artists that I can hook you up with who do a fabulous job bringing out the beauty that’s already there with a pop of glam, while still keeping it natural and down to earth. However, I leave this decision completely up to you. Sometimes getting the hair and makeup done takes a lot of stress out of getting ready AND it is super fun to be pampered! But if you don’t feel like that is a reflection of who you are…skip it. Just know that it is an option that is available to you! If you are interested in getting this done, just let me know during the consultation and we will work that into the schedule for the day!
Where do we go for the shoot?
During our consultation I will get to know you and we will talk about locations that go with your personality and style. Feel free to suggest any special locations that you love or have meaning to you. But for the most part, I don’t want you to worry about locations as this is my job and as I mentioned above, location isn’t always as important as everything else going on around you that day.
What if it rains?
I start watching the weather several days before the session. The day of the session my eyes on my weather app and if it is showing a high percentage of rain that day we will wait until at least a couple hours before the session to make that go/no-go decision and reschedule the session. If you are getting hair and makeup done that day, I will let you know of any reschedule before that even begins. What I have learned over the years of doing this is that if it’s raining that day, it doesn’t mean the session is going to be cancelled. I have captured some of the most dramatic and gorgeous images because the Mother Nature can’t make up it’s mind to rain or not.
What if it’s too windy? Please know that I will use my professional judgement to make the decision that is right for you and your session. I actually love wind in the hair photos but sometimes the wind can get carried away. I get it.
When should I book a session?
Most sessions are booked 4-5 months in advance especially during the busiest months of June – October! If you know you want a session during the Fall season it is best to book by June.
When are your sessions?
Each session is unique to the individual and depends on what ‘look’ we are going for, but most of the time sessions will take place 2-3 hours before sunset or right after sunrise for soft and flattering light. Sessions take place Monday – Friday. If you would like to book a session on Saturday or Sunday, an extra fee may apply depending on the season. Please inquire.
How do I book my session?
A non-refundable retainer fee of $250 is due to reserve the date of your session. **This fee is deducted from your final balance.** A contract and model release will also need to be signed.
Once you book your session you can request an optional in person consultation or FaceTime meeting to discuss everything about your upcoming senior photo shoot! Everything from outfits, locations, make-up…but most importantly I want to get to know you and find out about who you are, your style, your interests, your passions, etc…Then I can start brainstorming and dreaming about our photo session together!
What is included in your session?
To keep things simple and easy for you and because every client is unique, I offer 3 different options to ensure I have something for everyone. You can choose to go all-inclusive where the session fee and products are all included in one fee or build-your-own where you pay a session fee and order prints and products a la carte. A complete list of the collections and products will be provided upon inquiry.
All inclusive collections start at $1100.
Build-your-own sessions start at $450.
